# Can I work in Argentina with this residency?

A prospective or pending investment-naturalization applicant does not automatically have work rights. Government applications are not yet confirmed as open. Current wording is on the [citizenship by investment status](/research/argentina-citizenship-by-investment-status) page.

[Migration Law 25.871](https://www.argentina.gob.ar/normativa/nacional/ley-25871-92016/texto), article 51, says foreigners admitted as permanent residents may do any paid or profit-making activity, on their own account or as employees. That sentence is about existing permanent residence. Temporary-resident work rights depend on the authorization attached to that status. Neither rule is a work authorization for a person who has only asked about investment naturalization. The longer framework is in the [program guide](/guides/argentina-golden-visa-program).
