Argentina CBI vs Caribbean citizenship is not a choice between two open filing windows. Dominica and Grenada run operating citizenship-by-investment units that accept donation or approved-project capital and issue passports without a physical-residency stay. Argentina's pathway is a different legal structure: naturalization through a relevant investment under Decree 524/2025, administered by the Agencia de Programas de Ciudadanía por Inversión (APCI). The October 2, 2026 announcement states a $350,000 Treasury contribution or an $800,000 public-bond route. Government applications are not yet confirmed as open.

It does not cover other regional or European investment-migration options. For program structure independent of any Caribbean comparison, see the [citizenship-by-investment guide](/guides/argentina-golden-visa-program). Official government links are on [Argentina residency resources](/resources).

## Operating Caribbean Programs versus an Unpublished Argentine File

Caribbean citizenship-by-investment programs are donation or approved-investment routes to a passport. The applicant files with a statutory unit (in Dominica, the Citizenship by Investment Unit; in Grenada, the Investment Migration Agency), completes due diligence, pays a government contribution or buys a qualifying project interest, and, if approved, is naturalized. Those units are established and currently operating. Typical Caribbean CBI rules do not require the applicant to live in the country before or after the grant.

The October 2, 2026 announcement states a $350,000 National Treasury contribution or an $800,000 public-bond subscription. Government applications are not yet confirmed as open. See the [investment requirements](/faq/argentina-citizenship-investment-requirements). The [launch-date research note](/research/argentina-citizenship-by-investment-launch-date) records that the published decrees do not define the procedure. This page does not treat a tender cancellation as an established fact. The pathway should not be treated as an open application program.

Three comparison points hold across both Caribbean programs and Argentina's announced routes:

- Investment structure. Caribbean files are a contribution or an approved real-estate hold under each unit's rules. Argentina's announced routes are a $350,000 National Treasury contribution or an $800,000 public-bond subscription. Government applications are not yet confirmed as open.
- Processing. Caribbean units measure time in months from a complete submission. Argentina's processing time is not yet officially confirmed. See [application process timeline](/faq/argentina-citizenship-investment-application-timeline).
- Physical presence. Caribbean CBI typically has no stay requirement. This site also describes the Argentine investment route as not requiring prior residence or relocation. Ordinary two-year Argentine naturalization is a different track. See [residency requirements](/faq/argentina-residency-physical-presence).

Passport strength is treated under each country heading below. The [Henley Passport Index](https://cdn.henleyglobal.com/storage/app/media/HPI/Henley%20Passport%20Index%202026%20April%20Global%20Ranking.pdf) of 13 April 2026 ranks the Argentine passport 15th, with a visa-free score of 168. That score includes visa on arrival and electronic travel authorization. It is not a residency right, and it is not a benefit of residence or of an investment-naturalization application. Caribbean scores on the same table are lower. See [visa-free travel](/faq/argentina-visa-free-travel).

How an Argentine file would be screened, once one exists, is on the [due diligence process](/guides/argentina-citizenship-investment-due-diligence) guide. Caribbean units already run that screening today. Argentina does not.

Argentina CBI vs Dominica citizenship is a comparison between an operating Economic Diversification Fund (and approved real-estate) program and Argentina's announced investment naturalization, which is not yet confirmed open for filing.

Dominica's citizenship-by-investment program has been in place since 1993. The Citizenship by Investment Unit accepts applications, conducts due diligence, and grants citizenship. The [Citizenship by Investment Unit](https://www.cbiu.gov.dm/news/dominica/major-strides-for-dominica-as-citizenship-by-investment-generates-over-1-billion-in-reserves/) states that 5,814 applications were approved for fiscal years 2017-2020. That record is evidence of an operating unit, not a reason to treat Argentine filings as open.

Investment threshold. The [Dominica Citizenship by Investment Unit](https://www.cbiu.gov.dm/investment-options/economic-diversification-fund/) states an Economic Diversification Fund contribution of USD 200,000 for the main applicant and USD 250,000 for the main applicant and up to three qualifying dependants. The same unit states a real-estate minimum of about USD 200,000. Those are Dominica citizenship routes, not Argentine ones. The October 2, 2026 announcement states a $350,000 National Treasury contribution or an $800,000 public-bond subscription for Argentina.

Processing time. Dominica's unit processes complete files in a window commonly described as roughly three to six months, including due diligence. Argentina's processing time is not yet officially confirmed, and no decision window is running. A Dominica file can be filed now. An Argentine file cannot.

Passport strength. A Dominican CBI passport is a currently issuable travel document. On the same 13 April 2026 Henley table, Dominica's visa-free score is 145, below Argentina's score of 168. That comparison is a passport score, not a residency right. An Argentine passport is not available through APCI today.

Physical presence. Dominica CBI does not require the applicant to reside in Dominica. That is a live rule of an operating program. Argentina's investment route is expected to follow the same pattern once it is active. The difference at the moment is operational status, not a published Argentine stay quota that Dominica lacks.

## Argentina CBI vs Grenada Citizenship

Argentina CBI vs Grenada citizenship is a comparison between an operating National Transformation Fund (and approved real-estate) program and the same Argentine investment naturalization, which is not yet confirmed open for filing.

Grenada's citizenship-by-investment program has operated since 2013 under the Investment Migration Agency. It is an active filing channel. Applicants complete due diligence, make a qualifying contribution or project investment, and, if approved, receive Grenadian citizenship. No physical-residency stay is required.

Investment threshold. Published Grenada National Transformation Fund donations are widely reported as USD 235,000 covering a single applicant or a family of up to four, plus fees. An approved real-estate route is published at a higher project minimum (commonly cited as USD 270,000 plus a government contribution). Those Grenada figures are secondary descriptions. This review did not open an Investment Migration Agency schedule, so they should be confirmed with that agency before use. The October 2, 2026 announcement states a $350,000 National Treasury contribution or an $800,000 public-bond subscription for Argentina.

Processing time. Grenada's agency has stated an approval target measured in business days subject to due diligence and receipt of funds. Practitioner timelines for a complete file through to a passport are commonly described in a range of about four to six months. That is an operating calendar. Argentina's processing time is not yet officially confirmed, and no decision window is running.

Passport strength. A Grenadian CBI passport is issuable now. On the same 13 April 2026 Henley table, Grenada's visa-free score is 147, below Argentina's score of 168. The [U.S. Department of State Treaty Countries list](https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/fees/treaty.html) lists Argentina for E-2, with a treaty effective date of December 20, 1854. E-2 eligibility is a separate U.S. immigration question. Argentine nationality does not by itself create an E-2 visa. An Argentine passport is not available through APCI today.

Physical presence. Grenada CBI does not require residence in Grenada. Argentina's government applications are not yet confirmed as open. This page does not state an Argentine physical-presence rule.

## What This Comparison Does Not Decide

Choosing between an operating Caribbean donation program and a future Argentine investment file is a sequencing decision, not a ranking of two open counters.

A Dominica or Grenada application can be filed under rules those units publish today. The Argentine pathway should not be treated as an open application program. A Caribbean passport is not Argentine nationality. The mobility of an existing Argentine passport is not a benefit of an investment-naturalization application.

The two tracks do not substitute for each other. A Grenadian or Dominican passport does not become Argentine nationality. A Caribbean file does not complete an Argentine file. The decrees do not identify a Treasury payment or a bond as the Argentine investment type.

## Frequently Asked Questions
